Which barcode format should I use?
Choose the format your scanner, retailer, or workflow requires. If you are making internal inventory labels, Code 128 is a useful starting point.

Creating a barcode image does not assign a globally unique retail number. Keep the white margins and test a printed sample with the scanner that will read it.

Which barcode formats can I create?
The full bwip-js catalog is available, including Code 128, Code 39, EAN, UPC, ITF, QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, and postal formats. Specialist types have specific data requirements; the example button supplies a starting point.
Does this register a retail product barcode?
No. This tool draws barcode images. It does not assign or register globally unique product identifiers. For retail products, use identifiers assigned to your business through the appropriate GS1 organization or required by your retailer.
Will QR codes expire?
These are static QR codes, with your content encoded directly. They have no subscription or built-in expiry. A website they link to can still change or stop working.
Is my information stored?
Your entered code content is processed locally and is not sent to a generation server or saved by this tool. Downloads remain on your device. Normal hosting requests may still be logged by the hosting provider.
Can I use these for business?
You can download generated images for your projects. Choose the format and identifiers required by your application, preserve quiet zones, and test with your actual scanner. Generation is not certification of print or retailer compliance.

Code content: Text, URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, and barcode values are processed in your browser. This tool does not upload or store that content. Generated files are saved only when you choose to download them. QR codes are readable by anyone who can scan them; do not share a QR code containing a secret unless you intend to disclose it.
Website delivery: The hosting provider may process request information such as IP address, browser details, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. Hosted private previews may use hosting authentication cookies. The generator itself does not set advertising cookies, use analytics, or collect account or payment information in this version.
